Mobile game developer Zynga, known for important games such as FarmVille and Words With Friends, has started working on an NFT and blockchain-based game.
According to Axios, Zynga plans to increase the number of its blockchain team from 15 to 100 and roll out its NFT-based game to users by the end of 2022.
The company hired Matt Wolf, vice president of blockchain games, in November 2021.
The demand for blockchain games increased especially at the end of 2021. This situation is expected to continue in 2022.
Yuha Labs, the creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club, is also working on an NFT-based game.
While the gaming industry is focusing more on blockchain-based games, users within the crypto community are still distant towards it. In the past weeks, the NFT plan of the STALKER game series was canceled after the great reaction from the players.
