WhatsApp starts using avatars
Meta said that Avatar usage will increase at the Meta Connect 2022 event held in early October. Stating that it will come to all platforms belonging to the company, the company keeps its promise. Finally, WhatsApp has started to distribute the necessary update for Avatar usage to its users.
The feature, which came to WhatsApp months after its launch on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger, can be used as a profile photo or special sticker. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reports, “We’re bringing avatars to WhatsApp! You can now use your avatar as a sticker in chats. More styles will be available in all our apps soon.” shared with the note.
WhatsApp offers 36 custom stickers for Avatar usage first. Additionally, the company said it will receive styling enhancements over time, including lighting, shading, and hairstyle textures. When the update comes, there will be a “Use Avatar” option in the profile photo settings.
On the other hand, some innovations about Avatars were announced at the Meta Connect 2022 event. The company said that avatars will now have legs at the event. So much so that this innovation will be valid on all platforms. However, it is unknown when this will come to WhatsApp. Alongside all these developments, it announced that it will be an avatar store where people can spend real money to buy accessories for Meta, users’ avatars.
