Despite being under embargo, China continues to develop chips significantly. It tries to compete with Western giants both on the graphics side and on the processor side, at least within its own borders.
Loongson initiative ambitious
The Chinese Loongson initiative has already shared information about the Godson 3A6000 processor, which is based on a new architecture. Based on the LA664 architecture, the processor can be scaled up to 32 cores with its multi-chip structure. According to many banchmark tests, the processor catches the AMD Zen 3 and Intel Alder Lake processors in single core scores.
AMD EPYC Genoa-X very ambitious
AMD Ryzen 5 In tests with 5600G and Intel Core i7-1165G7 processors, success was achieved in certain scenarios. However, these numbers will decrease a little, as the speed will be around 3GHz in the final version.
Godson 3A6000 is not compatible with standard x86-64 and a custom operating system has been developed. This is not a problem as it will be used on Chinese government computers. The processor will be available in 2023.
