Reaction to OpenSea is growing

Announcing its operator filter in 2022, OpenSea received a positive response in the NFT and crypto industry. The platform, which provides convenience in terms of royalty fees and martketplace, has announced that it will remove the operator filter service. This announcement triggered confusion in the NFT industry.

There was a reaction against OpenSea from many companies, especially Yuga Labs. Announcing that it has given up support for OpenSea for contracts and new collections, Yuga Labs brought with it the mobility on the side of BAYC. Daniel Alegre, CEO of Yuga Labs, published a post on X, stating that OpenSea will gradually terminate its Seaport-related smart contract. “Yuga advocates for copyright protection of creators,” Alegre said of recent events. Yuga Labs’ separation from OpenSea is expected to be completed by February 2024.
