The Sun, which benefits from the energy and light of the world, appears with clearer photographs with the developing technology. Previously, telescope lenses were too flimsy to get a clear picture of the Sun. However, the Inouye Solar Telescope in the USA captured an impressive image. For the first time in the image, the second layer in the atmosphere of the Sun was included in detail.
The chromosphere, the second layer of the Sun, is detailed
Recently, images of the universe have begun to increase. The James Webb Telescope allows us to see different planets while recording very interesting images. Finally, the image captured by the Daniel Inouye Telescope shows us the most detailed parts of the Sun.
Previously, it was almost impossible to capture such a detailed view of the Sun. However, the Inouye Telescope from the US National Solar Observatory took part with a new image of the sun. The telescope captured the photo of the Sun with a resolution of 18 kilometers, especially when looking at the photos of the Sun.
The shared image shows plasmas rising from the Sun’s surface to the Crown Sphere, its outermost layer. There is also a detailed view of the chromosphere, the second layer of the Sun, known as the ‘color sphere’. This chromosphere has never been covered in such detail until now.
Scientists first processed this high-resolution photo. Then they said that 82 thousand 500 kilometers of the Sun is in the photo. Previous telescopes were not able to capture such a detailed image, as they had lenses that were vulnerable to solar photons. However, with the developing technology, it is possible to capture clear images of space objects.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) released this image to celebrate the Telescope’s August 31 launch. NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan made a statement regarding the opening. “NSF’s Inouye Solar Telescope is the world’s most powerful solar telescope that will forever change the way we explore and understand our sun. His insights will change how our nation and planet predicts and prepares for events like solar storms.”
The telescope’s construction has been a source of controversy due to its location at the summit of Haleakala volcano, a sacred site for many native Hawaiians. In 2015 and 2017, there were several protests about the use of this sacred land for the construction of telescopes.
