YouTube’s medical misinformation policy
YouTube says it will take action against proposed treatments that are both harmful and replace unproven and widely accepted alternatives. The platform will also block other videos deemed harmful under its medical misinformation policy, including videos that contain instructions for unsafe abortion methods or encourage false claims about abortion safety.
YouTube removed videos containing false information about the Covid-19 vaccine in October 2020, and banned it completely at the end of 2021. He has worked with the world’s largest technology platforms to combat misinformation about COVID-19. Twitter stopped enforcing its Covid 19 misinformation policy at the end of 2022, while Meta withdrew the rules in countries where the disease is not considered a national emergency.
