However, YouTube decided to remove a video that was uploaded 14 years ago and known to the whole world, because it contained violence, and then re-uploaded it. The owner of the video reacted to this situation.

Paul Weedon, who was punched in the video and the original owner of the video, pioneered the meme trend “I can’t believe you’ve done this” thanks to this video. 14 years after the video was posted on YouTube, authorities decided that the video was violent and removed the original video from Weedon’s channel.
The requests of Weedon, who tried to explain that the video was actually non-violent and funny, were rejected by YouTube officials. “I received an email from YouTube last night that my video ‘violates community and violence rules’. If the video was new, I could understand it, but it seems ridiculous to me that they have removed a 14-year-old video now,” said Weedon, who also does not understand what the purpose of Youtube is.

Making a statement after the incident, Weedon said, “I think what YouTube is doing is a kind of ‘image refresh’. By removing such videos, they try to make the platform look cleaner than it is. However, even though my video was removed, the video is still available on YouTube thanks to users who re-uploaded the video,” he said, adding that YouTube’s efforts were in vain.
Although YouTube officials claim that the video violates community guidelines, the video has been re-uploaded by the authorities and is now available. Authorities said in a statement that the video was under review and that an error may have been made.
Weedon said he contacted YouTube officials to understand why his video was removed while other users’ videos were still there, and all they did was “remind the rules”. Unable to learn why only his own video was deleted, Paul Weedon also announced that he would not upload the video again.
