YouTube, the world’s largest online video platform, has announced that it has taken a radical and equally important decision. According to the official statement made by the company, the videos on the platform that support false claims about abortion will be removed quickly. Among these videos, there will also be abortion methods, which are not medical, tried in daily life, unreliable and unknown.
“Beginning today, we will remove content that provides instructions on unsafe abortion methods or promotes false claims about abortion safety under our medical misinformation policies.” In the statement, it was stated that the guides prepared by the health authorities are trusted and YouTube will always support such guides. YouTube will also include a lighting text under the abortion videos in line with its decision.
Alternative abortion methods have become popular recently.
Abortion is an issue that has been debated for years. Abortion, which is recognized as a legal right in some countries, is strictly prohibited in some countries.
