Although Spotify has been sitting on the throne for years in the music listening industry, YouTube Music now has a considerable position. In order to compete, YouTube Music has adapted a few features of Spotify and a new one is being added to them.

YouTube Music already had a lyrics section. However, the newly emerged feature provides a karaoke-style interface that shines the lyrics as they appear in the song, just like Spotify’s ‘live lyrics’ feature.

Live lyrics interface coming to YouTube Music

A Reddit user discovered this lyric interface on his device under the YouTube Music subreddit and mirrored it with Chromecast Ultra from his Pixel 6 Pro device. As we can see from the photo, the features will be as follows:

  • Very similar to the lyrics interface of Apple Music and Spotify,
  • Background, blurred and zoomed in album cover,
  • At the beginning of the song, the album cover is in the middle of the screen without text. Then the album cover moves to the right and the song name + artist name appears. Finally the lyrics start to appear on the left side,
  • The songwriters appear at the end of the song,
  • If there are no lyrics, only the album cover, song title and artist name appear in the middle of the screen.

However, the Reddit user u/PmMeYourChromebook for some reason did not like the sharing of the images he shared on the platform elsewhere and cursed the author of the popular technology news site 9to5google.

What he does not know is that an image shared on the Internet belongs to the Internet from the moment it is shared. What do you think about this new feature of YouTube Music? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
