Popular music streaming platform YouTube Music uses your exact location when making recommendations. For example, if you’re at the gym, it suggests lists of more moving parts, while if you’re at work, it suggests lists to help you focus. However, this feature will expire next month.

YouTube Music will stop using precise location on September 26

Currently, if you have YouTube Music app location permission and Google Location History enabled, your exact location is used to customize your music experience. However, this feature will expire on September 26.

While YouTube Music will stop using exact location, it will also remove all precise location-based recommendations, location settings, and app permissions. All YouTube Music data obtained from your exact location will also be deleted.
