YouTube Kids’ video variety is increasing with a new feature!
READING NOW YouTube Kids’ video variety is increasing with a new feature!

YouTube Kids was developed by YouTube as a subsidiary of Google in 2015. The platform, as the name suggests, was designed only for children. The application, which was active in our country last year, allows children to watch videos in a safer environment.

However, this only allows children to access certain videos, so video diversity is limited. To solve the problem, it is testing a new feature to send videos that parents want their children to watch to YouTube Kids, which are on classic YouTube. What is the feature in testing and how is it used? Let’s take a look together.

Video sharing feature to YouTube Kids

Sharing videos with our loved ones from social media platforms is quite common nowadays. Since YouTube is one of the video watching and sharing applications, it is used quite frequently in this field. At its subsidiary YouTube Kids, however, children are not allowed to access every video. The new feature, which is still in the testing phase, allows parents to send the video they want to watch on classic YouTube to their children’s account.

To use the feature, the parents of the child using the YouTube Kids account must first link their YouTube account to their Google account. When sharing a video, there are options about where you want to share, and YouTube Kids has been added as a new feature to these options. After choosing the new option, the profile of the child’s account they want to send is displayed and video sharing is done from here.

With the new feature, children will be able to watch more diverse and parent-managed videos. After launch, it is estimated that not only the video, but also a YouTube channel will be able to be posted. This feature is currently only in testing in the Android Beta Program. It is still unclear when exactly it will open for use.
