After TikTok and Instagram, it offered a platform similar to the Reels platform on YouTube to users. Thanks to this platform, called YouTube Shorts, content producers can share short videos and thus appeal to wider audiences. YouTube has launched a new incentive campaign for YouTube Shorts, which has attracted great interest since the first day it was launched, and announced that it plans to pay a total of $ 100 million to content producers throughout the year.

Continuing to develop the Shorts platform, which has become increasingly popular lately, and to bring various innovations for more users to use, YouTube has announced that it will provide financial support to content producers who advertise in the Shorts section in the previous settings. With a new update, the company has brought another feature to Shorts that creators will love.

Existing videos can be converted to Shorts format

YouTube has added a new video editing tool to its iOS and Android app. Thanks to this tool, creators will be able to convert their previously shared videos into Shorts. This tool, called “Edit into a Short”, allows content creators to select up to 60 seconds of their videos that they publish on their channels, turn them into Shorts and share them. In addition to adding videos shot with Shorts or taken from their galleries, content creators will also be able to edit this section thanks to features such as text and filters.

YouTube said in a statement that it thinks the prepared Shorts will provide a link to the entire clipped video, making Shorts an ideal promotional tool for content creators. This feature is available only to the owner of the video, unlike tools like Clips that let you trim or cut from a longer video.

YouTube, which has been carrying out various incentive and innovation studies for Shorts, which has been available for several years, announced that more than 1.5 billion people watched Shorts last month. This feature, which is available today, is expected to be available to all users in a few weeks.
