Donald Trump committed the crime of “provoking the public” in his video sharing on January 6, 2021. In this context, all channels of Trump, who violated the rules of social platforms such as YouTube and Meta, were closed. After 2.5 months, a new decision was made. YouTube will reactivate Trump’s channel next Friday.
YouTube channel is active again!
Twitter first blocked Donald Trump for his violations. This was followed by Facebook connected to Meta in a short time. Finally, Google took action and the YouTube channel was closed. It was originally stated as a 7-day video upload restriction, but YouTube has extended this period.
Trump, who had 2.77 million followers at the time of his shutdown, now has 2.68 million subscribers. In the meantime, it lost about 900 thousand subscribers. This is not a very serious situation, but once the channel has been violated, it will not be able to get a good place in the YouTube algorithm. The only solution is to open a new channel.
The head of public policy at YouTube reported the news. In a post on his Twitter account, he stated that “the former US president is no longer restricted and has been given the authority to upload new content.” Comments on Trump’s disabled videos have also reappeared. But some of the videos YouTube thinks incite violence won’t be restored forever.
Trump has not yet made a statement on the matter. There is a possibility that he left YouTube. Or he will express them with the video he will upload when his channel is opened. Nothing definite for now. All that is known is that YouTube will follow very strict policies regarding its violations.
