Apple showed off many new accessibility features today. These included features designed for vision, hearing, and more. One of the most notable was a feature called “Personal Voice”.

This feature will allow iPhones or iPads to speak with your voice. In this way, people who have lost or may lose their ability to speak will be helped. With this voice similar to your own, you will be able to talk to your friends or family.

Your iPhone or iPad will be able to talk to people in your voice

According to Apple, users will be able to create their “Personal Voice” by reading a set of texts aloud to a total of 15 minutes of audio on iPhones or iPads. In addition, they will be able to read whatever they want to the sounds created by typing them. The company adds that the feature uses machine learning while saying it keeps the information private and secure.

Simplified versions of applications will come

The tech giant also showed off a feature it calls “Assistive Access,” or “Assisted Access.” Created for people with cognitive disabilities, this feature allows to use simplified versions of core apps. Examples of this include the combined version of Phone and FaceTime, simplified versions of apps like Messages, Camera, Photos, Music, and large texts.

A useful feature is also coming for the visually impaired or those with partial vision loss.

Finally, the company also showed off its new features for people who are blind or have partial vision loss. The new mode coming to Magnifier, called “Point and Speak,” will help him interact with physical objects through texts and voice. For example, when the camera is pointed at the buttons of the microwave, the iPhone or iPad will be able to read aloud to the user what it is.

Apple stated that the features will be available to users this year. This strengthens the possibilities of being a part of iOS 17.
