The iconic Counter-Strike map Dust2 has been redeveloped by an independent developer. The concept work, prepared using Unreal Engine 5, managed to arouse great resonance among the players. Many people claimed that the 6-minute video was made in the real world.
The developer has covered the legendary map in incredible detail. It also offers an even more realistic view by navigating the map with a first-person camera. Using the cutting-edge lighting capabilities of Unreal Engine 5, the developer has recreated the unique areas of the map.
The response from Counter-Strike fans has been overwhelmingly positive. Many players stated that the video could not be distinguished from real images.
According to the developer’s statement, there are some minor geographical differences in the classic Dust2 map. But the iconic bomb site and mid-passage has been elaborated. Players also stated that the look and feel of the map has been recreated while staying true to the original.
Although quite successful, it is not possible to play Counter-Strike on the redesigned map. The developer stated that he prepared this work only as a concept.
We’ve seen a game of similar reality before. The ultra-realistic game called Unrecorded managed to arouse great repercussions in the game world with its trailer videos.
