The popular business social network LinkedIn has become one of those on the artificial intelligence train. While the platform is looking for ways to incorporate artificial intelligence in more different ways, it adds artificial intelligence-supported “writing suggestions” and job descriptions to its service.

The era of artificial intelligence for LinkedIn

The writing suggestions are aimed at making it easy to fill out LinkedIn’s key profile fields. Filling in these fields can often be very tedious and facilitating this with artificial intelligence is a good move. With the added new “development” tool, LinkedIn Premium subscribers can create “about” and “title” sections based on their experience.

Using the same OpenAI models that power ChatGPT, the company says the tool aims to preserve your “unique voice and style,” drawing on your work experience and skills, as well as its own “insights” into what makes a good profile. As can be seen in the example of an “about” section provided by LinkedIn, the tool can quite successfully summarize an individual’s work experience.

LinkedIn also says it has begun testing AI-written job descriptions. In such cases, hiring managers will only need to fill in the job title, company name, and a few other basic details, and LinkedIn will create a detailed outline of the relevant job description. The company positions AI authoring features as a starting point rather than a final product. Either way, LinkedIn recommends users review the AI-generated text to check for accuracy.
