Having an eventful start to 2022, Yemeksepeti was hacked in the past months, and then came to the fore with the revolt of the employees with the increase in the new year. Fortunately, events soon settled down and the company changed the rate of increase in the salary of its employees.

Yemeksepeti, one of the most frequently used ordering applications in our country, came up with a different topic today. The gamification feature called ‘Muhtar’, which has been in the system for a long time, has ended.

No neighborhood has a ‘Muhtar’ anymore!

As we have just said; For a long time, Yemeksepeti included the mukhtar race where users collect points and earn badges from their orders. Although it created a kind of competitive environment among users, the exact functions of being a ‘muhtar’ were still unknown to many users.

You know that at Yemeksepeti, we can send comments about what we are satisfied or dissatisfied with to restaurants so that everyone can see them. In fact, these comments can sometimes be quite funny. When you become the most ordering Yemeksepeti user in your neighborhood, the comment you made with the mukhtar appeared at the top of the restaurant’s comments. In addition, your suggestions were considered as a kind of ‘suggestion’ since you were the ‘headman of the neighbourhood’.

Actually, the feature doesn’t have much of a function other than that. Only some restaurants could make small gestures to you because you are the headman of your neighborhood and your comments will appear at the top. Of course until now. As of today, Yemeksepeti has terminated this practice and the section with the ‘Mukhtar Ranking’ is currently empty. In fact, the application sort of separated the comments of users who ordered too much from others. Although the application seems to serve a good purpose from this point of view, the number of users who have different opinions on this issue and find the application unnecessary is also quite high.

There has been no official statement from the company yet, so we do not know whether the feature has been completely shelved or if it is a different development / change, although it is not visible in the application at the moment. On social media, users began to produce their own theories as to why the application might have been removed. Some users, on the other hand, shared that they found the application unnecessary and that it was appropriate to remove it, regardless of why it was removed.

We couldn’t figure out what happened yet…
