For a while, XRP scammers had started the fraud by making transactions through a fake XRP account circulating on Twitter. They started sending spam replies to accounts hacked with scam links on Twitter accounts of crypto community members they created.
Finally, hackers who hacked the Twitter account of Spanish musician Bertín Osborne, thus using one of the most popular verified Twitter accounts they have ever been able to hack into their scams.
The official account of Oman’s Indian embassy was hacked last month for a similar scam.
