Making the biggest purchase in its history for 35 billion dollars and incorporating Xilinx, AMD has focused on the company’s work on its own ecosystem until today. Now it is slowly starting to integrate into its own products.
Artificial intelligence step in the Ryzen 7000 APU series
In the Ryzen 7000 APU series, which will bring together the Zen 4 core and RDNA 3 graphics unit, the company will include the artificial intelligence acceleration engine developed by Xilinx for the first time. Thus, it will provide a significant advantage in artificial intelligence-oriented transactions.
AMD’s $35 billion purchase of Xilinx comes to an end
The company states that the production phase of the first Ryzen 7000 prototypes has been completed and they have started testing in the laboratory environment. If things go well, the final decision on these new chips will be made. Thus, it will compete with the VPU processing units that will come with Intel Raptor Lake.
The Ryzen 7000 APU series will offer artificial intelligence acceleration, as well as LPDDR5 memory and PCIe 5 support. It will appeal to a wide range with TDP values ranging from 35W-45W. It is stated that AMD will name it as Ryzen 7040 this time.
