Having succeeded in gaining the appreciation of users with different technological devices, Xiaomi has started to work on increasing the production of smartphones. According to a newly shared NikkeiAsia report, the company is starting smartphone production in Vietnam to increase its competition with Samsung.
Competition between Xiaomi and Samsung will gain momentum
Xiaomi, which previously only produced smartphones in China and India, plans to meet the local smartphone demand in the country with Vietnam, which is among these names. In addition, the new devices to be produced will later be exported to Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Thailand.
It is reported that the company has signed an agreement with Chinese electronics manufacturing company DBG Technology, which has a 200,000 square meter factory in Vietnam, while this facility will also be responsible for the production of data transmission equipment and circuit boards. With the new deal, Xiaomi plans to catch up with Samsung, which makes half of its smartphone production in Vietnam and is the leader in market share in the country.
