Xiaomi is one of the biggest players in the fast charge development industry. The company currently has 120W fast charging technology and its devices are actively using it. However, it continues to work to improve the existing one.
According to the allegations, Xiaomi is currently working on developing a technology called flash charging over 100W. In addition, the company wants to expand the battery capacity. In other words, the battery life and charging speed of the device will be guaranteed at the same time.
Xiaomi will charge their phones in 10 minutes!
The Xiaomi 12 family, the company’s most advanced model to date, can already be charged with a 120W adapter. Although the standard model of the family will be released this year, the Ultra version will be available in March or April with 120W fast charging support.
But if the leaked information is true, the flash charging technology we mentioned will not catch up with these devices. Therefore, the company is expected to present this feature with the new member of the Mix family, which introduced many innovations. This will likely be the Xiaomi Mix 5.
If the claims are true, we will see flash charging technology in flagship models in the second half of 2022 at the earliest. Of course, there will be speed options that vary according to the device. However, the expectation is that the existing 120W will go under 15 minutes of charging time.
Xiaomi has previously shown that an improved version of the 11 Pro can charge its battery with a 200W fast charge. Moreover, the device was filled from 0 percent to 100 percent in just 8 minutes. So this is actually considered the first wired charge under 10 minutes. But at this point, the size of the battery is also very important.
The company plans to control the heating rate of this 200W fast charging adapter and the phone to a large extent, together with another system it has previously announced, the “annular cold pump cooling system”. This system is of great importance in terms of security measures.
Although developments in battery technology are progressing relatively slowly, progress in fast charging may be a solution to our problems. In other words, we do not need a huge phone that does not run out of battery for 2 days or 1 week. Even phones with a relatively small size and battery may be more advantageous after flash charging. For example, you will be able to fill from 0 to 100 in just 4-5 minutes.
