The Chinese technology company Xiaomi announced a new smartphone concept equipped with a modular camera system at the MWC 2025 event. The company’s customized Xiaomi 15 model comes with a magnetic 35mm lens that can be installed and removed, and offers a photography experience like DSLR.

Xiaomi introduced the modular camera system with a magnetic relationship at the MWC 2025 event. The new camera system will be directly integrated with the hardware of the phone, unlike Lasik external lenses.

Without delay photo experience with laserlink technology

Thanks to the special “Laserlink” technology developed by the company, the landscape data can be transferred instantly when the lens is installed and there will be no random delay during shooting. The new modular camera system is equipped with a 100 MP resolution Micro Four Thirds (M4/3) sensor. This sensor, which is larger than standard phone cameras, provides more details. Supported with 35mm aspheric glass lens, the system offers more suitable performance in low light, while it also contains features for manual focusing ring and automatic focusing engine.

Apple’s magnetically connected to Magsafe accessories, Lens will be controlled through Xiaomi’s camera application. Thanks to the RAW format basis, users will get more flexibility in post -shooting editing.

Within the scope of the event, Xiaomi has announced a new accessory package called Ultra Photography Kit Legend Edition. This kit will be offered for sale at 199 Euro price and provides inspections of DSLR formats. It comes with a USB-C-related camera holder, the physical shutter button, the set wheels for ISO and white stability, and an additional 2,000 mAh battery.
