Chinese technology giant Xiaomi not only introduced a new smartwatch, wireless earphones and foldable phone at its large-scale event today, but also showcased its first humanoid robot, which it calls CyberOne.
CyberOne is touted as a “good friend for humans”. The robot is 177 cm tall and weighs 52 kilograms. A highly developed brain has been built for CyberOne, which can communicate with people. Thanks to its artificial intelligence, it can detect 45 different human emotions.
It has a special body control algorithm
CyberOne’s face consists of an OLED display. Thanks to the whole body control algorithm developed by Xiaomi, it can coordinate the movement of 21 joints. It should also be noted that it has a 3D vision function that allows it to navigate and avoid obstacles around it.
Xiaomi’s humanoid robot can move at a speed of 3.6 km / h. It was also stated that it was not affected by temperature or rain. CyberOne is apparently designed primarily to assist with household chores. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that the humanoid robot will not be available for sale, at least for now, due to the high cost of production.
Xiaomi is still in the early stages of humanoid robot development. Cyberone will improve day by day. The Chinese company believes that intelligent robots will definitely enter people’s lives in the future. Xiaomi will use CyberOne as a robotics research platform.
