Introducing the Xiaomi 12S series smartphones in the past weeks, Xiaomi is increasing the number of models supported by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform. In a new post on Weibo, Redmi CEO Lu Weibing announced that a new Redmi K50 flagship is on the way and will come “soon” with Qualcomm’s new platform.
It could be called Redmi K50 Ultra or Redmi K50S
Today, the Redmi K50 series has three models, the K50 E-Sports Edition, K50 and K50 Pro, equipped with Snapdragon Gen 1, Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 9000 chipsets respectively. However, according to the updates shared by Weibing, it is estimated that the new Redmi K50 model will be called Redmi K50 Ultra or Redmi K50S, similar to the Xiaomi 12S series.

According to previous leaks, the newly introduced flagship phone is expected to come with a larger battery capacity, 200MP camera and under-screen fingerprint reader compared to the K50 series.
