Xiaomi Group, the manufacturer of the Xiaomi and Redmi brands, is preparing to give up the LCD screen on smartphones. The manager of the Chinese manufacturer, Zhang Yu, hinted that they will be able to use OLED screens in all of their mid-range and high-end models. In this context, the Redmi Note 11T Pro will be the last Xiaomi phone with LCD screen.

Xiaomi to close the LCD notebook with the Redmi Note 11T Pro

Giant smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi are aiming to discontinue LCD panels for their latest devices. OLED screens, which are more successful in terms of both battery life and performance, have an important point in Xiaomi’s new roadmap.

According to the latest statement by Xiaomi Group Manager Zhang Yu, the Redmi Note 11T Pro could be the company’s last LCD phone. While this decision is important in terms of screen quality, it received mixed reactions from Xiaomi fans.

Users think that smartphones, which are increased by supply problems and the chip crisis, may face additional hikes due to OLED panels. Although this decision of Xiaomi does not make a price difference in flagship models, it may lead to a hike in mid-segment devices.

The Redmi Note 11T Pro features a 6.6 inch Full HD + resolution IPS LCD panel. The display has variable refresh rates between 30 Hz and 144 Hz. There is also a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor in the series.

Xiaomi wants to switch to a fully OLED panel in the Redmi Note series. While Amoled was preferred in Note 11, LCD panel was used in Note 11T Pro. However, Xiaomi said that this panel, which received the DisplayMate A+ certification, is “the best LCD in history”.
