Xiaomi, which has been on the agenda with electric car leaks for a while, has finally announced its introduction date. Stating that it will invest 10 billion dollars in total for electric cars, the company will soon bring its new model to automobile enthusiasts.
Xiaomi entered the electric car market fast
The electric car market, which gained momentum with Tesla, gained a different dimension with the steps of big companies such as BMW and Mercedes. Self-driving cars, which are seen as the technology of the future, have also managed to enter the radar of smartphone manufacturers such as Xiaomi and Apple.
Xiaomi Automobile Co.,Ltd. Ltd. Lei Jun will be the CEO of the company. Jun, the founder of Xiaomi Group, will also be at the forefront of electric car production.
Stating that they need employees who are experienced in autonomous vehicles, the company underlined that they will employ 500 people in this field.
Xiaomi, which is not yet known with which companies it will cooperate with, will develop an infotainment system inspired by the MIUI interface in its car.
Announcing that the electric car will be introduced in the first half of 2024, the company did not share any details about the vehicle they developed.
