Most high-end smartphones are fast enough for most users, but in terms of performance figures, the A-series chips that power Apple’s iPhones are ahead of the processors that power Android phones. iPhones notoriously offer better performance and graphics than Android phones, but Qualcomm may be close to taking the crown.
Smashed all the phones
Conducting in-depth smartphone reviews and tests, Golden Reviewer revealed that Xiaomi’s latest flagship 12S Ultra has better gaming graphics than any other smartphone, including Apple’s phones.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is a big improvement over Gen 1 thanks to TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process. According to Qualcomm, the chip offers 10% better CPU performance, 10% faster GPU clock speeds and 30% more power savings compared to its predecessor.
High FPS, less heat
For the test, Genshin Impact was chosen as one of the games that can force a phone the most. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra ran the game at higher frame rates than any of the other top smartphones of 2022. To put it bluntly, an average of 57.7 FPS was received. Even more impressive is the absence of the overheating problem seen in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The phone managed to stay cooler than the iPhone 13 Pro Max with A15 chip, iPhone SE 2022, Galaxy S22 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and many more.
Interestingly, Xiaomi’s phone seems to have better thermal characteristics than the iPad Air 2022 with Apple M1 processor. The only device with a higher frame rate than the 12S Ultra was the iPad Mini 6 with the A15 processor.
