How is the Xiaomi 12S Ultra camera?
Hardware details about the Xiaomi 12S Ultra are not yet clear, but the company made a post about the camera. It was stated in the sharing that the 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor will be used. Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro will include different sensors.
Actually the Sony IMX989 sensor is 1 inch from corner to corner and we’re seeing a bit of a marketing makeover here. In other words, we can say that it is a sensor that is defined as 1-inch Type and does not use the entire sensor. It can be a bit deceiving as the Type plugin is not used in the banners.
1-inch Type sensors use a little more midrange and thus require smaller lenses. The performance of the real 1-inch sensor cannot be captured. At this point, it is a question of whether Xiaomi will make an optimization with Leica. The company has already announced that it will not enter the DxOMark tests.
On the other hand, it is stated that Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro and Xiaomi 12S Ultra models will be launched in China in the first place. In this regard, the global market will have to wait for a while.
