Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi introduced three smartphones late last year, namely Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X. The company is now preparing to add a new model called Xiaomi 12 Ultra to the series. However, the release date is not yet clear.
Chinese social network Weibo also revealed some details about the smartphone. Sources close to the company claim that the device will be launched in the second half of 2022. Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be a more advanced and more expensive smartphone than the Pro version.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 rumors
The new model will be available not only in China, but also in European countries. According to rumors, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will come with an enhanced version of the high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. This processor, which will be produced by TSMC, is referred to as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus or Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
There is also information that the new flagship smartphone will be equipped with a periscope camera with 5x optical zoom. It is stated that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be sold in the Chinese market with prices starting from 6,000 yuan ($ 940). European price will be higher. This means that potential buyers should be prepared for a price of around 1,000 euros.
