We call people who engage in hate speech, swearing, humiliation and similar activities in games as ‘toxic players’. These toxic players in online games can make playing games a torment for us normal people, both with their behavior and what they say.
Of course, toxicity is not just a problem for gamers and it exists everywhere in life, but today’s children and youth are born into technology and games. These games are also the most important means of looking at the world for these young people who grew up with games. The toxicity they are exposed to in these games makes them either toxic players or victims of toxic players.
That’s why XBOX CEO says ‘When toxic players get banned from one place, they should get banned from all other platforms’
Speaking to The New York Times, XBOX CEO Phil Spencer made statements about the increase in toxic players and what can be done. In his statement, Spencer stated that he wanted players who behaved badly and got banned to be banned on many platforms. Here’s exactly what they said:
“One of the things I wish we could do, which is very difficult in our industry, is for a player banned from any of our platforms to be banned from all other platforms as well. Is there a way for us to ban them on other platforms as well?”
Do you think if a player is banned on one platform and banned on all other platforms, will the number of toxic players in the games decrease? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
