For those who don’t know, X’s (Twitter) Circle feature is an option similar to Instagram’s Close Friends feature, which allows users to see their posts only by the people they specify. This feature, where you can select a maximum of 150 people, will be removed from the platform soon.

A statement was added to the Environment feature page in the support section of X (Twitter) that the feature in question will be deprecated as of October 31, 2023. This option offered by the platform for sharing will not be available as of the said date. Posts previously shared for Environment will remain as they are.

It is unknown why X (Twitter) decided to remove the Environment feature. The company did not make a statement about this. But there are various predictions. According to these estimates, the reason is bugs in the feature. In the past months, many users said that there was no mention in the posts shared specifically on the Environment and thought that this could be seen by everyone.

Aside from showing the posts shared for the Circle in the For You section, there were also important errors such as users outside the Circle group being able to see the post. Moreover, the company also confirmed this. As for the result, X (Twitter) was receiving many reports about this feature.
