X keeps growing
In an X he shared (I think we say that now), Musk announced that the number of monthly active users of the platform has reached 541 million people. Musk’s share of the user figures in X comes during a period when the company is making organizational changes and trying to increase its advertising revenue, which has fallen in the past month.
In May, Musk appointed former NBCUniversal head of advertising Linda Yaccarino as CEO of X, signaling that ad sales are a priority even as the platform seeks to increase subscription revenue. Earlier this month, Musk said X’s cash flow was negative due to a nearly 50 percent drop in ad revenue and a heavy debt load, but did not elaborate.
Is Twitter a better place now?
It is very difficult to give a completely objective interpretation of this. Twitter has been in our lives for quite some time, but like other social media platforms, it has never been a place that has increased the number of users constantly and in large amounts. For example, Facebook has 3 billion monthly users according to the latest data. This huge pool of people also ensures high advertising revenue.
Therefore, although the changes in Twitter, or rather X, are annoying, it is necessary to say that the necessary steps have been taken for the growth of the platform. It is possible to create a flow of people who talk about the topic you want and about it. The “For You” flow shows you people who are more interested in your interests than before. So in terms of experience, Twitter seems like a better place than before. What is your comment on this?
