As you know, sports games usually appear with one or two minor changes every year compared to the previous year. As you know, the WWE series is a stand-alone production on the part of wrestling games. That’s why in some years we come across with really small changes. Recently, the last game of the series, WWE 2K23, made its debut. So what does it offer, what are the differences compared to the previous game?Developed by Visual Concepts and 2K Games, WWE 2K23 offers various modes for both those who want to experience it alone and those who want to play with their friends. When we look at the single player experience side, the part that caught my attention the most this year was the John Cena mode, which is also the cover face. In this mode, we can say that we experience John Cena’s past in a documentary style. In this part, we experience John Cena’s previous defeats by controlling those who defeated John Cena. On the other hand, we can say that it offers a good experience as we watch John Cena sections. If, unlike me, you have a love for WWE, I can easily say that you will enjoy it much more.
Apart from the John Cena mode named Showcase, there is the MyRise mode, which is also enjoyable. In this mode, you can experience two different stories. You control a rookie wrestler in one story and a second-rate wrestler in the other. In this mode, you progress through the main missions, but there are also side missions and you can change your character with the decisions you make. Another fashion is MyGM. In this mode, as the name suggests, it is the manager mode. In this part, if you like management and WWE, I can say that a nice detailed mode awaits you. I did not experience this mode last year, but as I can see from the videos, there is no big innovation compared to the previous year, just more GMs have been added.
Let’s come to the new mode added this year: WarGames. In this mode, there are 2 different rings in a cage and the players fight in these two different rings. This mode, which you can play as 3vs3 or 4vs4, is played with friends or online and I can say that it is one of the most fun modes because it turns into a big chaos.
Apart from these modes, there are many online and offline experiences where you can spend more time, and all of them can keep you busy. So on the gameplay side, I can say that there is actually enough content for the fans. If you are entering for the first time, a menu screen will be waiting for you, where you will be lost again.
To sum up, there is already a certain standard in terms of graphics and performance, and this standard has been preserved here as well. Of course, the animations are a little better this time and the graphics look really slightly refreshed. I can’t say that I had a problem with performance during the time I played on PS5. In short, if you are a WWE fan, a good experience awaits you. Even if you are not a fan, I can say that there is a content that you can buy during the discount period and have a pleasant time both alone and with your friends.
