Japan-based technology manufacturer Fujitsu has announced the world’s lightest laptop, the WU-X / G2. Although it is almost as light as a keyboard, it draws attention with its hardware features. Here are the Fujitsu WU-X / G2 specifications.
Fujitsu WU-X / G2 features and price
Introduced as the Fujitsu Lifebook model, the new laptop weighs only 634 grams. For comparison, the iPhone 13 model weighs 174 grams. So the laptop is the same weight as four iPhone 13s. Due to its light weight, the battery capacity is lower than its competitors. Although Fujitsu claims 11 hours of battery life, its 25WHr battery is almost a quarter of the size of its competitors.
As for its technical specifications, it is powered by 12th Gen Intel Core (1235U or 1255U) and 8GB / 16GB / 32GB LPDDR4x memory. It has internal storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB and, interestingly, it has an optical drive.
Fujitsu WU-X / G2, which has a 13.3-inch Full HD screen, also includes an HD webcam. It also features the Intel AX201 chipset with Bluetooth 5.1 and WiFi-6 support.
At the port, it has enough options to make its rivals jealous. There’s a card reader, three USB ports, an HDMI port and a Gigabit Ethernet port. It also has a fingerprint reader on the power button.
The Fujitsu WU-X / G2 is priced at 317,222 yen (about $2400). The lightest laptop will go on sale exclusively in Japan, though it’s unclear for now whether it will be distributed globally.
