Big big spiders, sweetly climbing koalas, kangaroos wrestling with each other and the real Tasmanian devil… We all know how strange and surprising the animal kingdom in Australia is.

Among these oddities, a shocking discovery was made in the past few days. A toad has been found in the rainforests of northern Australia, a candidate to break the world record for its weight.

Introducing ‘Toadzilla’:

Discovered by the wildlife patrol, the toad was named ‘Toadzilla’ after Godzilla. The frog surprised the experts with its size.

Described by wildlife patrol Kylee Gray as “like a soccer ball with feet”, this giant frog weighed in at a total of 2.7 kilograms when weighed. The frog is already a candidate to enter the Guinness Book of Records with its weight.

The largest toad ever discovered, entering the Guinness Book of Records, was the 2.65-kilogram Prinsen, discovered in 1991.

The species of frog harms plants in Australia:

This giant frog, which stuns many to see, belongs to the Rhinella marina (reed frog) species, which was brought to Australia in 1935, 100 of which were brought to Australia. This species has reached a population of 200 million today and has become one of the most damaging organisms to plants in Australia.

According to Kylee Gray, a frog the size of Toadzilla can eat anything that can fit in its mouth.
