The NFT sector continues to attract attention and increase its influence all over the world. It’s becoming more and more common to convert just about anything to NFT. This time, flight tickets were converted into NFT by the Spanish airline company and offered for sale.
Air Europa, one of the leading Spanish airlines, announced the launch of the world’s first series of NFT airfares. Air Europa, which has partnered with blockchain startup TravelX for the NFT series, announced that users who purchase tickets from this collection will board a private plane between Madrid and Miami on November 29, 2022.
Air Europa Launches First NFT Airline Tickets
Air Europa has launched its first NFT airfare in Algorand. The first NFT flight tickets were offered for sale in collaboration with Spain-based Air Europa and blockchain firm TravelX.
The feature, called NFtickets, will be available for purchase on the TravelX platform. The first auction was held on April 11, as the process will repeat every two weeks. Explaining that
NFT tickets work like traditional unique tokens, TravelX stated that when the transaction is made, by recording the transactions on the blockchain, holders can present their collections and purchase a matching airline ticket.
The airline said the move will give buyers the “opportunity to have a piece of travel industry background and participate in the first blockchain-powered flight.” The plane will take off from Madrid on November 29, 2022 and land in Miami.
