RazerCon fair, which Razer, one of the most popular player equipment brands, regularly organizes every year, passed like a bomb this year. The company introduced its cutting-edge products to all its followers, and one of them is really exciting.
Razer had previously shown the Razer Edge, the world’s first 5G supported gaming device. However, the console was fully introduced at Razer’s fair with its features and price. Let’s take a look at Razer Edge, the world’s first 5G supported gaming device.
Big competitor to Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck: Razer Edge
Razer Edge consists of two different parts, the main unit + screen, which contains all the hardware, and the controller that you attach the main unit to. The main unit has a 6.8 inch AMOLED touchscreen running at 2400 x 1080 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Razer states that it has 87% more pixels than competing devices.
The processor at the heart of Razer Edge is a Snapdragon G3x with a 3 GHz octa-core Kryo CPU and Adreno GPU. The company claims that this chipset will provide 2 to 3 times the speed of standard mobile platforms like the Snapdragon 720G. Razer Edge also has a built-in 5,000mAh battery.
While the Wi-Fi version of Razer Edge ships alone, the 5G version will come with the Kishi V2 Pro controller add-on. This unit is similar to previous models designed for smartphone gaming and has physical controls similar to console game controllers.
Razer has set the price of the Wi-Fi version of Edge at $399.99. The price of the 5G model will be announced later.
