Time Out magazine has added a new one to its research that determines the best in the world. This time, the team researching the coolest neighborhoods in the world determined the best ones with the data compiled from the survey conducted with the participation of 27 thousand people. In the last voting made by the special team of the magazine, a district from Turkey also managed to find a place for itself.

Norrebro, located in Copenhagen, Denmark, was selected first in the research. Stating that the district has very active businesses, the editors stated that unusual events such as interactive art exhibitions are also held. Turkey, on the other hand, entered the list at the 45th place. Istanbul Kadıköy has been one of the coolest neighborhoods according to Time Out. According to the editors, the fact that the district is both very lively and offers green areas for those who want it put Kadıköy ahead of its competitors.

Here are the 10 coolest neighborhoods in the world

  • Norrebro, Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Andersonville, Chicago, USA
  • Jongno 3-ga, Seoul, South Korea
  • Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland
  • Station District, Vilnius, Lithuania
  • Chelsea, New York, USA
  • District XI, Budapest, Hungary
  • Ngor, Dakar, Senegal
  • Sai Kung, Hong Kong
  • Richmond, Melbourne, Australia

Time Out editors generally underlined similar things in the list they prepared. For example, an active life was emphasized for Andersonville and Jongno 3-ga, just as in Norrebro and Kadıköy. Making statements about the work they have done, Time Out Editor-in-Chief Caroline McGinn stated that especially local businesses are important for this list, because the spirit of the neighborhoods is created thanks to those businesses themselves.
