The World Health Organization announced today that it has declared an epidemic related to the Marburg virus in Ghana. It was announced that the tests expected for the virus to be declared as an epidemic were positive today.
Preparations for a possible new epidemic have begun
In its statements, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that an epidemic was declared regarding the Mayburg virus seen in two patients in Ghana and that preparations were started to prevent the epidemic from growing further. WHO stated that the first symptoms of two patients who lost their lives due to the virus transmitted by contact when they applied to the hospital were diarrhea, fever, nausea and vomiting.
It is known that many people have been exposed to the Marburg virus since 1967. However, it is reported that necessary measures have already been taken to prevent the re-emergence of the virus and its transformation into an epidemic. However, WHO reports that the virus is transmitted and spread through contact.
