Mersin İŞKUR Provincial Director Mustafa Kutlu said that some citizens in disaster areas lost their jobs as well as their homes and said, “We predicted that while these people were already working, they were also unemployed due to the loss of their homes and workplaces, and their needs would arise in this sense. Our state had already provided everything for the basic needs of the earthquake victims. We decided to implement the project, which we named ‘New Hopes’, because we evaluated that they would need a job afterwards.” said.
Within the scope of the project, a protocol was signed with Mersin Textile and Apparel Manufacturers Association (METKOSAD), Anatolian Lions Businessmen Association (ASKON), Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) and Mersin Authorized Automotive Dealers Association (MODER). With the project, in which 130 disaster victims have been employed so far, it is planned to provide employment opportunities to 5 thousand earthquake victims and to heal the wounds caused by the disaster quickly.
