After Apple announced the car key feature in 2020, news began to emerge recently that this feature will be expanded. On the other hand, the company’s rivals on the Android front have also taken action for their own car key applications.
Xiaomi digital car key app launches soon
Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo recently announced their own car key apps. Now it’s Xiaomi’s turn. The Chinese manufacturer announced that they have started to collaborate with BMW for the car key application.
Introducing the Xiaomi 13 series at the MWC event held in Barcelona, the company also shared the first details about the car key feature. During the event, Xiaomi stated that they will make the digital car key application available to certain BMW models from the second quarter of this year.
The digital keys used via smart phones can be used to start some models apart from opening and closing the doors of the cars. This application stands out as a very useful way to entrust your vehicle to a person.
Thanks to the newly developed digital keys, you do not have to give the physical key of the vehicle. Since the digital keys can be shared with the desired person, there is no need for people to meet. In this way, users do not have to carry their vehicle keys with them. On the other hand, problems such as the loss of vehicle keys are also eliminated.
