It’s not uncommon for iPhones to have as much RAM as their Android rivals. While this is normal since iOS is an operating system that generally needs less memory than Android, sometimes it’s okay to have Apple’s smartphones have the extra power for more demanding tasks. Fortunately, Apple can apparently change that with the iPhone 14.

Naver, a reliable leakster on the Korean social media network, says that the iPhone 14 Pro will have 8GB of RAM, which supports another rumor that has been heard before.

Earlier, iPhones had peaked with 6GB of RAM, which was enough for their intended use, and were generally quite good even for photo editing and gaming. Android phones, on the other hand, sometimes go up to 18 GB of RAM.

However, this news should still be viewed with skepticism as some rumors have said that all iPhone 14 models will be offered with 6GB of RAM.

Basically on a smartphone, RAM is the short-term memory of any technology device that handles what tasks you are doing at any given time. RAM is useful to a certain extent, but it’s highly unlikely in general if you’re doing any super-intensive operation on a smartphone that requires as much RAM as a game console or computer.

Video – image editing and gaming are some of the toughest tasks on a smartphone, but 8GB of RAM will definitely be enough for all these tasks.

If Apple decides to increase the RAM of the iPhone 14 Pro, we can guess that it will not make a statement about it. At the iPhone launch, Apple is detailing many of the new changes and features, as well as eye-catching features, but there are also things it doesn’t explain in detail. For example, the company almost never announces battery capacity for new iPhones, and we’re waiting for iFixit, which disassembles the iPhones, to find out. Similarly, Apple does not publicly disclose RAMs either.

So we may have to wait a little longer after the iPhone 14 launch to find out if the Pro and Pro Max have 8GB of RAM.
