With its newly announced Supergrouper feature, Spotify will now allow you to bring together your favorite artists. With this feature, you will be able to choose from three to five different artists on the platform and create and share your own custom playlists featuring their work.
“The possibilities for these creative partnerships are endless,” he says, pointing to past examples of real-life collaborations between Spotify, Gorillaz and Madonna, and Aerosmith and Run-DMC. Using this feature, you create a custom group name and assign different roles to each artist. You can select each of the artists manually or ask Spotify to randomly select the selection based on your listening habits.
“While it doesn’t guarantee that your favorite artists will get together on stage or in the studio, Supergrouper will let you do the next best thing,” Spotify said in a statement. The description continues: “The supergroup feature gives you the power to assemble your dream group of artists and share your creative combinations with friends and fellow fans.”
Here’s how the Spotify Supergrouper feature is used:
- Update the Spotify app to the latest version.
- Go to https://spotify.com/supergrouper on your mobile device.
- Choose between three and five artists to form your group.
- Share your posts with friends or listen to the playlist using SHARE or LISTEN TO THEIR PLAYLIST.
- The Supergroupers feature is currently only available in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Philippines.
