Although the Android world has already reached record wired and wireless fast charging levels, Apple has never been able to embrace this technology. It has been keeping its distance for years, especially due to overheating and affecting battery life. This situation has not changed in the iPhone 15 series.

iPhone 15 wireless charging speeds

With the introduction of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series, in-depth feature research began. Since the company does not disclose many things in its promotion, details emerge in such analyses. One of these is fast charging.

According to the company’s technical documents, Qi wireless charging speed in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series is limited to 7.5W. Apple has maintained this limit for a long time and has not changed it. MagSafe, on the other hand, can charge wirelessly up to 15W.

Qi Consortium recently announced the Qi2 standard, which goes up to 15W and is built on MagSafe. Thus, wireless charging up to 15W will be possible on supported iPhone models. Although Apple emphasized that it supports Qi2 technology at the event, it did not choose to increase the speed.

Another detail is that the wired charging feature remains in the dark. Some claims stated that faster charging would be achieved with the 35W adapter, but it appears that the battery reaches 50 percent charge in 30 minutes with 20W and above adapters. Other than this, no information was given. Wired charging performance will be clearly evident in real-life tests.
