US-based technology giant Microsoft continues to work on a new feature for the “Phone Connection” application. A new feature detected in the Android version codes of the application will allow phones to be used as webcams in seconds. This functionality has until now been available through third-party applications, but with Microsoft’s work, it seems that there will be no need for an external application.
The discovery made in the codes of the Phone Connection application revealed that the feature will be available for Android phones, at least for now. Additionally, not all Android phones will support this feature. Examination of the codes revealed that Samsung’s new generation Galaxy phones and a few models such as the OnePlus 11 can be directly converted into webcams. Of course, it is not known whether this will be a permanent situation.
This is not the only feature coming to the application!
Although the most important feature detected in the Phone Connection application codes is the webcam, this is not the only innovation. Apparently, users will be able to use extra features such as blurring, HDR filter, night mode, stabilization and automatic framing on their phones that they turn into a webcam. In fact, if an Android phone turned into a webcam overheats, the Phone Link app will show warnings about this as well.
Microsoft has not made any statements about the new features that will come to the Phone Connection application. However, this situation will definitely change after a while. Meanwhile; It is not yet clear whether the feature will come to the iOS ecosystem in the future.
