Adding File Explorer-based Gallery feature to Windows 11
As it is known, Microsoft is making fine adjustments and improvements in File Explorer, starting with Windows 10 and extending to Windows 11. Looking at the images shared by Albacore, we can say that the “Picture” section of File Explorer has been reworked. Images featured here now appear as large previews instead of being listed in small rows and names.
Also, Albacore reports that the new File Explorer is based on WASDK (Windows App SDK) and Xaml, which is developed to create static or dynamic user interfaces. This version, which has the same icons, colors and layout as the current application, is currently stated to have below average performance.
Microsoft is expected to launch the revamped File Explorer sometime in 2023. However, it has not yet been announced whether the renewed Gallery design will be included in the update.
