An official statement has been released from the Ubisoft front regarding Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which was leaked to the press while Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was still in the development process. Ubisoft officials have put an end to the claims that the game will be a production in the category of free to play (Free2Play) for a while.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity will not be a free game

With Assassin’s Creed Origins released in 2017, the series that changed its shell and returned to its old successful days, decided to change direction once again.

In the information leaked to the press during the development process of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it was claimed that the new game would be released as an expanding service model. With this new model, players would be included in the continuity of the game by paying separately for new content and historical periods, instead of buying a new game every year.

Ubisoft, which did not respond to these rumors for a long time, confirmed these rumors with a statement made last June. Stating that the new production, developed with the code name Assassin’s Creed Infinity, will have a world where new content is constantly added, the authorities have not shared information about whether the game will be free since then.

In an interview this week, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked if Assassin’s Creed Infinity would be a free-to-play title. Guillemot stated that the game will not be free, as it will contain many story elements even if it is first released. The CEO of Ubisoft added that the game is still in the early production stages and should not be expected to be released in the near future.
