READING NOW Will the AMD Ryzen 7000 series be an alternative to the APU?

AMD recently introduced its Ryzen 7000 series new generation processors. It is said that RDNA 2 GPU units are used in these chips, which are launched as the most advanced in the world. For this reason, many people were saying that a new alternative to APUs was being introduced. However, the latest information will upset those who expect APU rival performance.

AMD Ryzen 7000 series graphics are not enough for gamers!

Speaking at the Computex 2022 keynote speech, AMD Technical Marketing Director Robert Hallock confirmed that CPUs and APUs will converge in the coming years. However, when it was said that the RDNA 2 GPU would be included in the new AMD Ryzen 7000 series, everyone thought that this change would come faster than expected.

But it turned out that the expectations did not reflect the reality. In fact, in a statement made by Hallock, it was said:

We still think of the Ryzen 7000 series as CPUs. Because we see (integrated graphics) differently from APUs with a large graphics engine that can play games. But as we look to the future, both of these options will be available in our processor family.

AMD has confirmed that all 7000 series processors will have a certain number of RDNA 2 cores. However, when we examine these new generation chips, we see that the graphics units inside are designed with a focus on mobility and comfort rather than playing games.

According to what Hallock said, the integrated graphics of the new Ryzen processors will have some advantages outside of gaming. In particular, video encoding and decoding capabilities directly on the processor are highlighted.

However, chips with built-in graphics chip released by Intel with F series processors promise progress, albeit limited, on the game side. If you don’t want to open a AAA quality game, you can probably do it with Intel HD Graphics.

We will only see how the new generation AMD processors will perform against Intel’s internal graphics unit when they come out. However, we can already say that it will not be as ambitious as APUs and will not make a big difference.
