Stadia is a cloud gaming streaming service from Google that launched with high hopes for $9.99 per month. The subscription lets you play games at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second (60fps), and gives access to a host of exclusive games. There’s also a free version that lets you buy games directly, but limits the image quality to 1080p.

Stadia launched a few years ago, but its popularity has waned drastically since then. The biggest reason for this is interpreted as the image quality is mostly not at the same level as PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X. In addition, it is a fact that Stadia does not have attractive games of its own.

On February 1, 2021, Google surprised its customers and even Stadia employees by announcing that it was closing first-party studios. So far we haven’t heard much about the platform. According to a new report from Business Insider, the company is trying to “save the failed Stadia game service by focusing on stunning deals with Peloton, Bungie, and others.” Considering that Business Insider has a good track record when it comes to this type of news, we’d say it’s most likely true.
