The claim that Samsung Exynos will appear with a new brand next year caused excitement, albeit for a short time. The Exynos chip brand doesn’t have a good reputation these days, and a rumor that emerged said that Samsung would rename its silicon as the “Dream Chip”. But this rumor was quickly denied by the Korean giant.
Dream Team rumors have been circulating for over a year. Allegedly, this team consists of senior engineers working on the new generation Exynos 2400 SoC and working diligently to secure the future of Exynos after recent disappointments.
The last flagship Exynos chip, the 2200, failed to launch well in early 2022. Because the Galaxy S22 series, supported by Exynos 2200, struggled with many problems at first. But even though the chip was subsequently optimized and works much better now, many Samsung fans have lost hope in Exynos, especially after Samsung took a year off from developing high-end Exynos chips and equipped the Galaxy S23 series with a Qualcomm SoC globally. cut. Therefore, many Galaxy phone users do not want to go back to Exynos anymore.
But a leaker at X said Samsung will go one step further and undertake a major rebranding in its efforts to regain the trust of its customers. According to @OreXda, future chips from Samsung would no longer be called Exynos. The company would use the name “Dream Chip”, a name heavily inspired by the aforementioned Dream Team.
Samsung, on the other hand, stated very clearly that this claim is not true. Although the Korean giant admitted that the Dream Chip name belonged to an ongoing project within the company, it said that the name would never be used as a trademark.
Considering Exynos’ relatively bad reputation, it wouldn’t actually be much of a surprise if Samsung wanted to rebrand its chip line in 2024. This might even be a good idea.
